Sandrigo was controled by the Sesso family for much of the 1500's. The family was important enough to be visited by Emperor Charles V, in 1532. The wealth of the family can also be seen in the number of fine villas in the area. Today Sandrigo is the Baccalà Vicentina (salted cod dish).
