VILLAVERLA | VICENZA PROVINCE

The town gets it name from the Verla family who controlled the area in the 13th century. The township grew up around the Verla estate, thus taking its name. A reminder of their power is the Palazzo Verlato dello Scamozzi, which dominates the main town square. There is also to the villa Ghellini del

Pizzocaro, with a porticoed courtyard; the villa is now used for art exhibits and cultural events. Located on a small province road this is a nice village to pass through.
