This is the perfect program for those not looking for an epic trek staying in the mountain huts, or a person just introducing themselves to hiking. We stay in 3 Iconic Villages and explore some of the best locations nearby. After over 20 years walking in this area we feel these are the walks not to miss and that offer the greatest flexibility for those wanting more as the week progresses.
DAY 1 - Arrival - Normally our guests arrive in Venice and from there we arrange a private transfer to our first hotel at Lago di Misurina. Other pickup locations can be coordinated, ask us how we can meet your travel flow. Upon arrival at Lago di Misurina we go for a short introduction walk and then a review of the week's activities. For Guided and Semi Guided Tours we have dinner together were we can further talk about the week, and give you more travel insights to the area.
DAY 2 - Today we walk to explore the Sesto Mountain Group by going up to Monte Piana to visit the open air museum of the First World War, and enjoy great views of Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
DAY 3 - We leave the lake area today to go over and walk Lago Sorapis, located up in the Cristallo Mountain Group. This is considered one of the Dolomites best walks. After the Lake we descend down into Cortina d' Ampezzo, were we will base ourselves for the next two nights. Cortina has plenty of stores, cafes, and places to eat and relax.
DAY 4 - A short ride up to Passo Falzarego places us at our start point for today. The Tofane Mountains are very suggestive and we can either take a cable car to altitude, or walk up to the Lagazuoi Mountain Hut for some great views. There is an option to take an old WW1 tunnel trail back down for the more adventurous. Overnight is in Cortina.
DAY 5 - A day walking the Iconic Cinque Torri (5 Towers). We are changing valleys today and along the way explore the Towers of Cinque Torri and Passo Giau. After the walk we will find ourselves in small ski village of Arabba.
